Yes, a campaign can be canceled, but the conditions and consequences depend on the campaign type. Before deciding anything, talk to your coach: they'll help you find the best option, and it isn't always cancellation.
Reward-based campaign
There's no cancel button: cancellation goes through the Ulule team. Write to your coach from the discussion tool on your project page: see Communicating with Ulule: my coach.
- Before canceling, we ask you to post a news update explaining the situation to your backers.
- Once the campaign is canceled, the whole operation is canceled: you receive no funds, even if your goal was reached. Everyone who contributed is notified and refunded automatically.
- The process can take a few days.
- Cancellation is no longer possible once the funds have been transferred.
Donation or subscription campaign: cancel or close?
You have two buttons in your management area, with very different effects.
Cancel the campaign
- Donation campaign: only possible if no transfer has been made and within 6 months of going live.
- Subscription campaign: only possible before the first transfer.
- Effect: all payments are refunded automatically and subscriptions are stopped.
Close the campaign
- All subscriptions and monthly donations stop immediately.
- No refunds: you receive a final transfer with all remaining funds.
- It's irreversible.
What if I can no longer cancel?
Beyond these limits (transfer already made, more than 6 months for donations), there's no automatic cancellation. If you want to refund your backers, you have to do it yourself, outside Ulule (by bank transfer, for example). Your coach can help you organize it.
Let your community know
Whatever the campaign type, post a news update to explain what's happening. Your backers trusted you: an honest explanation is always better received than silence.
