Backer service fees on Ulule

What are backer service fees ?

The backer service fee is a fee applied to each contribution made on Ulule from April 14, 2025. These fees amount to 10 cents + 2.2% VAT of the total amount of the contribution, including postage and any donations, and are added to the amount of the contribution.

Example: for a contribution of €100, the service charge will be 10 cents + 2.2% x €100 = €2.30 incl. VAT, i.e. a total amount to be paid of €102.30 incl. VAT.

What do these fees cover ?

They are intended to partially cover the platform's operating costs, including bank charges, service development and user support.

What happens if a fundraising campaign fails ?

In the event of a failed fundraising campaign or a refund, the contributor is reimbursed the full amount of his or her contribution, including service charges.

How are these fees indicated when I make my contribution ?

Service fees are clearly indicated in the payment tunnel before your contribution is validated. They are deducted from the contribution amount and do not reduce the amount received by the Creator. They appear as a separate line in your payment summary.

👉 A payment receipt detailing these fees will be emailed to you upon confirmation of your contribution.

Will I receive a receipt for these fees ?

Yes, a receipt of payment including the service fee will be sent to you in the email confirming your contribution. This receipt serves as your invoice for these fees.
