What is the difference between the campaign types on Ulule?

On Ulule, you can fund your project in three ways: a campaign with rewards (or pre-orders), a donation campaign or a subscription campaign. When you submit your project, the Ulule team points you to the type that suits it best.

Campaign with rewards (or pre-orders)

Backers receive a reward in exchange for their contribution: an object, an experience, a thank-you… It is the best fit for a well-defined project, with a community to rally over a short period.

  • All or nothing: you receive the funds only if you reach your goal within the set time. Otherwise, everyone is refunded.
  • The goal is financial, or expressed as a number of pre-orders if you sell a product in advance: see Financial goal or pre-orders: which to choose?
  • The campaign has an end date (90 days maximum). If you reach your goal, you can extend it with Extra Time.
  • Currency: euros or Canadian dollars.

Donation campaign

Your community gives you donations, with no rewards to deliver. You choose to accept one-off donations, monthly donations or both.

  • The goal and end date are optional: your campaign can stay online as long as you like.
  • You request the transfer of available funds whenever you want, as many times as needed.
  • You can cancel the campaign and refund all donations as long as no transfer has been made, within 6 months of going live.
  • Currency: euros.

Subscription campaign

Your community supports you every month, on a recurring basis, like a subscription.

  • You offer monthly tiers, with or without rewards (exclusive content, for example), and a free tier if you wish.
  • No end date. The goal is optional: you can set a goal as a number of members.
  • The transfer is automatic, on the 1st of each month.
  • Currency: euros. Card payment only.
