How do I take part in a referral contest?

When you share a campaign on Ulule by email or on social media, and so help its project owner raise funds, you can sometimes benefit from rewards and special offers from the project owner, for example through a referral contest.

We want to make sure your efforts are recognized every time you take part. Here's what to do so that your shares count.

How can I make sure my referrals count?

Log in to Ulule if you haven't already, or create an account here. Then go to the campaign page on Ulule and look to the right of the main video for the “Share” button.

Click the “Share” button. A pop-up window opens with the logos of most social networks and a link you can copy in one click: this is your unique sharing URL. You can either use the social sharing buttons, or copy and paste your unique sharing URL to share it by email with friends and contacts, in a blog post, etc.

Please note: because of Ulule's privacy policy, the project owner ONLY receives the name and email address of the people who back their campaign.

If you're not a backer, the project owner won't be able to contact you if you win their referral contest. You may want to back the campaign before taking part in a referral contest, so the project owner can reach you.

Good to know:

  • Ulule can't track referrals made any other way. If you tell your friends in person or send a link without your unique referral ID, the share will NOT be counted in your Ulule referrals.
  • The visitor must accept cookies and contribute within 20 days of clicking your unique sharing URL, from the same device, for their contribution to count as coming from you. If they delete their cookies in between, our system technically can't count the referral.
  • Each project owner runs their own contest: any question about the details or rules of a campaign's referral program should go to the project owner.

How do I follow the results?

Only the project owner has access to the referral contest results, through a dedicated referral dashboard in their contribution tracking.

Project owners are encouraged to share these results regularly with their community and, to avoid any suspicion of cheating, to take a screenshot of the results or to notify the leading referrers by email, to show transparently that the data comes from Ulule.
